About Sleep, with the C.P.A.M.

Publié le par sb

The average length for a good sleep is between 6 and 8 hours (Napoleon slept about 4 to 5 h., Einstein between 10 and 12 h.).

A newborn needs to sleep 20 h. a day; at one, it’s between 14 to 15. For little children, it’s 10 to 12 h. (naps in kindergarten).

The ideal temperature is 16 to 18 °C and melatonin (the sleeping hormone) needs obscurity to start off.

Each cycle (about 2 h.) is composed of light sleep, profound sleep and paradoxal sleep (dreams and nightmares). Physical recovery is at the beginning and psychical recovery at the end.

Lastly, sleeping pills are not harmful but often create dependency.

Thank you, Mrs Deslandes.
